SELECTBOARD, PLANNING COMMISSION

& ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Part-time position up to 20 hours per week partly in the evening in the evening with the balance of hours during the day. Attendance at night meetings is a must. There are no benefits.
• Requires excellent typing, writing, filing, recording, organizing, communication, computer skills, and reliability.
• Log in and file development review applications and special appeals for the Highgate Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Adjustment.
• Prepare, post, and publish agendas as well as notices for public hearings of both boards for publication and public warning; send copies of agenda to board members, applicants and adjoining landowners; send agendas and public hearing notices to the St. Albans Messenger for publication as a legal classified advertisement and/or public service announcement. Become familiar with the legal requirements regarding the timing and content of public hearing notices.
• Attend two regular Selectboard meetings and both regular land use board monthly meetings, and special board meetings as needed, to log in attendees and to record proceedings. Selectboard meets the first and third Thursdays of each month at 7 p.m., Planning Commission meets the first Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. & the Zoning Board of Adjustment meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Town Office meeting room.
• Take & prepare minutes of all meetings and public hearings for filing with Town Clerk and mailing to applicant and interested parties.
• Organize and file all material and evidence submitted for all land use applications.
• Hourly rate commensurate with experience.
• Position open until filled.
